Hey,
Well what a fab festival week we have had in Arundel. So many new faces and a great response to our new The Vintage Room - Something for the Guys! We could hardly keep up with all you cool chaps jostling for our Harris Tweeds. Lots of familiar faces popped in to wish us well, which was great.
No doubt Hem will fill you in with lots of photographs and happenings over the last 10 festival days.
My one and oh- so cringe memory from this Festival will be when I talked the guys who barricade & close the roads on the Weekend Festival Days into letting me through, as I was late! Well after batting my eye lashes and pleading pathetically they let me through. Great I was on my way, until I turned the corner (no way back) and to my horror they had tables and chairs all over the road! Lots of lovely couples and families enjoying Coffee & Croissants in the sunshine. There was nothing left for me to do, I had to ask them all to move a little so I could squeeze my Mercedes Estate through to Nineveh House. Two kindly (as it turned out) policemen came to see who had caused all the commotion down the road, it did not help that my work colleagues at Nineveh were begging them to arrest me, charming! To anyone who was present and had there morning coffee interrupted I sincerely apologize.
The search is on for all our Goodwood outfits now, we have had to step up quickly with the demand for original 1940's outfits. Some really great outfits have been created, we really are looking forward to seeing them at Goodwood, looking Fine! Also, quite a lot of 60's too with fab little mini dresses and boots. Oh it is soooo exciting!
The chaps are also getting in to gear too. Excuse the pun but with all you suave chaps in RAF no. 1 uniforms or spived up in your whistle and flute it is enough to make a girl swoon.
We are getting in more hats and coats as well as more fur wraps and strolls for those who require them.
Now that the summer is drawing to an end, (no I am not really crying, it is just a little sniffle)
The Vintage Rooms will be changing it's stock, to reflect the chillier times we are to expect now. Actually, I love all those little jackets and boots , how I just love Boots! So there is reason to be in good spirits, as they say 'There is Always a Silver Lining'.
Be Happy.
Love

An annual 10 day event, packed FULL with different activities and entertainment. Celebrating the beauty of Arundel and the community with in it. There is so much to see and is a key town for tourists. The Arundel castle, Swanbourne Lake and the Antiques shops, are just a few great places to visit in Arundel. Every year the Jubilee Gardens, hosts great bands playing in a picturesque area, for free for everyone to enjoy, which is throughout both weekends. At Earl Gardens in the castle grounds, the GB Theatre company puts on two of Shakespeare's classics. This year it is the quirky Twelfth Night, and of course the truly romantic Romeo and Juilet. Thats not all, but inside the castle, in the Baron's Hall, returning for another year is Candlelight Opera, who will be presenting Don Pasquale. In various houses, buildings, shops and galleries, art can be found! The community can volunteer to showcase their hidden talents and can be up for purchase. It's great to wander round Arundel and visit people's homes to view their collections. There is so many Fab things on offer in Arundel, but the best would have to be the last evening. Welcome to The Vintage Room
Vintage Fans everywhere, The Vintage Room welcomes you to our blog! From this day forward, we will enlighten all Vintage Vultures, who are eager to find the best buy, style and information on specific eras!
Vintage is all about the essence of the past, which we embrace! As Summer is among us, a lot of Festivals take place, with our name on it! We've recently come back from Vintage at Southbank; which rose to fashion fame, after the huge success at Goodwood (which we were apart of!) It's great to travel around to key Vintage festivals and meet people who adore the past decades, just like us. Met great people, and had great fun! Personally, I dressed to impress! Along with our gentlemans specialist, we had many photos taken of us! Look out for us, I was dressed head to toe, in 1950's fashion. Aquascutum made the outfit! Topped with the neccessary key, accessories, and boy does it take time to find the right sunglasses! I must say, having all them photo's taken for guitar campaigns, fashion magazines & blogs (would you believe it!) was partly due to how fab my hair looked, courtesy of Urban Retreat! 1950s up-do made the outfit come together! If you are ever near Harrods, go to Urban Retreat, and see Carlos; however they are all Top professionals, so you can't go wrong. He creates a masterpiece with hair, its more than art, its beauty. Our gentlemans specialist wore original RAF dessert uniform. Someone wanted to buy the jacket of his back, and came to our stall with cash in his hand, but like any vintage vulture, our guy, held on strong to his gear. Like a true trooper he did not let it turn his head.
In about a week times, the Arundel Festival kicks off! Full of fun, live music, antiques and not forgetting Vintage fashion! Plenty of free things to get you in the enjoyable mood, whilst being surrounded by picturesque scenery. To the build up, we will keep you posted with offers and news. Sure to be a great success, and come and find us!
Well, would you believe it, the first blog, done & dusted. Expect vtg fun and mayhem, plus much more! Keep with us, we aim to please.
I'll leave you in the capable hands of Christian Dior, bye for now from The Vintage Room x
It's not money that make you well-dressed it's understanding.- Christian Dior
